Springer span y'all

Looks like Jerry Springer - The Opera is finally getting to go on tour round the length and breadth of this land.

Having seen the televised version, I can't say that I thought it was a brilliant piece of theatre. That said, I shall be going to a night of the Liverpool run to, if nothing else, bite my thumb at Stephen Green and his Christian Voice lunatics.

An excellent piece of comment in the Independent yesterday on this by Phillip Hensher, which can be read online for the cost of a quid if you are not a Independent Portfolio subscribers.

Real-ale and skittles

Great lead lines from north-western news articles...

"A SCHOOLGIRL arm-wrestler's dream of world success is being hampered by a cash crisis."

School girl arm wrestler.

Surely 16 year old ladies are scary enough as it is?
